We didn’t learn this in Silicon Valley. We learned it in the fells, on the rugby pitches, in heavy engineering, and behind the kitchen tables of West Cumbria.

Kris Mathers

Kris is the technical spine of Marra AI. The one who looks at a messy business and sees how it should actually run. Previously a Nuclear AI & Robotics Engineer at Sellafield Ltd, he worked on machine learning and autonomous systems in high-consequence environments, including rigorous codes of practice and compliance.

That background shows up here as careful data handling and systems built to last. Your business knowledge structured properly. AI set up on your information. Ownership staying with you. Not another shiny tool that leaves you staring at a blank screen at 8pm.

People, scale & strategy

Mark Cant

Following two decades in business operations in the military and nuclear industry, including as a trainer, Mark co-founded, scaled and successfully exited a Cumbrian consumer products business, before completing his MBA at Durham University. He knows a thing or two about creating something local from scratch.

With a strong appreciation for customer insight, strategic positioning and effective marketing, and as a director of Workington Town RLFC and youth enterprise mentor, Mark’s focus at Marra AI is to help local businesses and third-sector organisations thrive. Whatever we build together gets adopted, and you get your time back.

We’re forming a Community Interest Company (CIC) alongside the commercial work. Same vision. Grow small marras and strengthen the community around them, with digital skills, practical systems, and AI education that local charities, voluntary groups and non-profits can actually reach.

Every commercial client we lift helps build capacity for a Cumbrian community organisation that needs it.
